Mopar may have the worst online catalog ever.

For example, you look up available wheels for you Hellcat Challenger, this is what the website looks like.

Kinja'd!!!

Perhaps show a picture of the wheel that is listed for the item number instead of all the wheels possible?

What’s sad, they use the same picture for other items listed under the same category. Didn’t know that’s what a Window Panel Filler would look like.....

Kinja'd!!!

http://www.mopar.com/dodge/challeng…

Then after you click on the item you are interested in, this is what it gives you. Says “Number on image: 5”. Problem is the picture is not even click able so you can’t tell which wheel item number is! Doesn’t help that it’s distorted.

One of the most popular brands to modify and add accessories to in the world is Jeep.

They have the same problem on their site.

Would it kill them to put some young intern web designers on this?

I don’t know, they have the money, I know people who work on their advertising.

I work on some of the Ford Accessories stuff and it’s much, much better.

I want to get roof rack mounted bike carriers for the additional bikes I need to attach to my T&C. I love that the kids are learning to ride and enjoying it, but I need a place to carry my two bikes, you know? Seriously when we go on vacations, I bring 5 bikes for 4 riders, and many times my wife isn’t bringing hers. I may need to chill.

So I go on their site because the roof rails are goofy shapes and I know Thule makes a set for them. So it’s significantly cheaper through Mopar for a Thule rack than through Thule. No reason why and terrible pictures, so I don’t know if I can trust it. Of course the local shop doesn’t stock the style I like, so I’d have to order it anyway.

Grr...

I like the hitch racks, but for my wife’s sanity while driving, she has made it clear to me that I am not allowed to go over 3 bikes on the hitch. That means two on the roof.

I honestly cannot thing of a website that is more poorly laid out and has less information on their pages, and I’m including Michigan.gov in that too.

Usually if I need something for my Ram 1500 that is specific to the vehicle, I’ll find the number on Mopar’s site, then just search for it elsewhere, usually cheaper and easier to navigate that way

Try finding the foam gasket with tape adhesive on one side that sticks to the back of the gas cap on a 20 year old Viper.

After the delearship ordered the wrong part, I gave up and ordered some blank gasket material and made my own. Easier than dealing with their junk computer parts catalog.

Yeah I have tried the Mopar site, I have seen guys trying to start a business out of their garage that know nothing about web design that have better parts catalog. What I don't get is I mostly hear about Mopar from the old guys with muscle cars. Try to find a part on Mopar, and it seems if your Chrystler warranty has run out you can't find Mopar parts for it. I know they are out there, but the web site just does not seem to want to go to it.

Maybe the old timers use the actual catalog, that is printed and spend hours searching for that one gasket they need.

Weird, I don’t remember it being that bad before. Last I was on it they had actual pictures, though I only find myself on there once every few years for no reason in particular.

Reminds me of being a kid and flipping through dirt bike accessories and parts catalogs for HOURS just to find parts that match your bike

Unless that site is like any Subaru parts site. Dodge may not actually sell their parts online. For instance when you look up “factory” Subaru parts online it is actually a dealer who made their own site. Subaru does not directly sell parts online. Neither does GM or Hyundai for that matter. They are all third party or dealers trying to gain online sales. These sites usually use the worst possible catalog images for them, because they don’t physically have these items in stock until you order it and they order it from the warehouse. I will bet you $20 it isn’t actually Dodge selling these parts.

Well I just checked out the site. Looks like it may actually be Mopar, but I think they are just using the poor Catalog images for parts they don’t actually have pictures for.

It’s Mopar that’s selling them. I haven’t ordered from them in years, but what I recall was you pick out what you want online then select which dealer you want it to go to, and pick it up, pay for it, there

Huh, yeah I was playing with it looks like you can have it shipped to you now. That other way seems really odd.

That’s how I did it in the past to avoid paying shipping fees at least.

The only thing I ordered was a trailer brake controller for my Ram 1500 so I didn’t have to splice my own wires for it. Luckily there was only 1 available from their website

Yeah, I am thinking when you get to interior color parts and such. Then I guess the dealer can return it, but if the customer had gone in with the vin, the correct color is always found.
